The Friends of the Duxbury Free Library is a multi-generational, volunteer group with a mission to enrich the lives of every Duxbury citizen from the youngest to the oldest by promoting, advocating for and supporting our Library.  Funds raised through the Friends provide for the materials budget and make possible many diverse and impressive programs to patrons yearly.  Since 2000, the Friends has raised over $200,000.

In 2009 alone, the Friends contributed:

  • $14,000 for library materials such as books, CDs and DVDs;
  • $4,000 for the children’s summer reading program; and
  • $2,000 for the young adult summer reading program.

Membership is open to any person interested in supporting the purpose of the group.  By joining the Friends of the Library and providing ongoing support, you can become a part of our important mission.  Please explore our website to learn more about our role in the community, and consider becoming a 'Friend' of the Library.  Your support is needed and greatly appreciated!
